Our Family’s Experience in Buying a Family Protection Dog From EliteProtectionDogs

From the first phone call to the delivery of our dog

            In our search for an elite protection dog there were a few non-negotiable’s that were a must for us to find in a dog. With four young kids, all under the age of seven, and with safety as our number one priority, the dog would need to be of the right temperament, gentle, of a level- headed nature, and be able to tolerate and adapt well to a busy and active family lifestyle. Another non-negotiable was finding a group with a long history of consistent positive results in producing dogs that are excellent family dogs, that can be taken out safely into public, while also possessing strong protective capabilities. Another must was knowing the full history of the dog—where the dog came from and the background of the dog’s training. We also wanted documentation showing the lineage and a clear health status.

            We spent a lot of time on competitor websites and on the phone learning about many different groups around the U.S. selling elite level protection dogs. Dogs in this category ranged from approximately $50,000- 100,000. We found ourselves hesitating to purchase a dog from these different groups for different reasons. The challenge was finding a dog with the right balance between being an excellent family dog while also possessing high-level protection skills necessary to protect the family. The process was a bit overwhelming until we were introduced to EliteProtectionDogs with Laszlo and Martina.

            A good friend of ours whom had recently purchased a beautiful sable German Shepard Dog from EliteProtectionDogs told me we should give them a call. Before calling we wanted to first meet their dog and be around him to get a feel for the personality and the quality of dog that this was. Our friends, whom also have three young kids, joined us for dinner and brought their dog along with them. The dog behaved perfectly, was level and clear headed, gentle, yet alert. This dog was hands down the most impressive dog we had ever been around. We really did not know a dog like this existed! His physical features were also very impressive, his appearance was striking and demanded respect and awe due to his strength and beauty. The dog obeyed his handler perfectly and was simply exceptional with their three little kids, all of whom hugged and patted him throughout the evening. You could see a healthy bond between dog and family, and we found ourselves thinking, this is exactly what we have been looking for.

            The next day we gave EliteProtectionDogs a call and we had a very nice talk on the phone. Laszlo answered all of our questions and explained everything from where their dogs came from, to the history and background of their training, and he explained why their dogs make such great family protection dogs. What stood out to us about EliteProtectionDogs was the long family history of breeding and training high caliber family protection dogs. This knowledge has been passed down and perfected over many generations and they continue to work at improving themselves up to this day. There is no substitute for this kind of experience, and it was becoming clear that this was a second-to-none group, and we had discovered the real thing in EliteProtectionDogs.

            Next in our conversation we asked if they had a dog that they felt would be a good fit for our family. Understanding our family’s needs he expressed he had one dog in particular that he felt would be an excellent fit. After exploring other options, we came back around to the original dog Laszlo suggested and we were so happy we did. They were able to match us perfectly to one of their dogs and we were very happy we trusted them to help us with the process of matching a dog to our family.

            Once we had the dog selected full payment was required to hold the dog and proceed. We were not sure about making such a large payment up front when the dog would not be delivered for approximately 4-5 weeks. But like with trusting Laszlo and Martina and their long history of breeding and training protection dogs and seeing the excellent and seamless experience our friend had in obtaining an incredible dog from them, we also trusted the process and took the necessary steps to hold the dog and get the delivery scheduled.

          Laszlo continued to be available and were great communicators during the waiting period. They usually got back to us within a day and they sent us short updates along the way. We were certain EliteProtectionDogs was the best place to get a dog from and that we had the right dog on the way; so we found that we did not worry at all during the waiting period.

            Approximately a month or so after the payment was made, Laszlo and Martina delivered the dog and it was a perfect delivery experience. Over the course of a couple days they answered all our questions and reviewed training with us in a hands-on manner. They displayed the dog’s ability to obey basic commands as well as his protective capabilities. We could not have asked for a better experience. EliteProtectionDogs is a world class training group and it showed. We had plenty of time to ask questions and the trainers were very knowledgeable and helpful in teaching us the things we needed to know. We really enjoyed the training time and delivery experience with Laszlo and Martina!

            The decision of where to a get a protection dog from is critical. Especially for families when safety, temperament and background are so important. If we were to go back and do this again we would without a doubt go back to EliteProtectionDogs! I wanted to take the time to share with others about my experience with EliteProtectionDogs.  I’ve been fortunate enough to receive two different dogs from EliteProtectionDogs over the past 10 years.  At first I was apprehensive to wire money to another country but I am glad I did.  Both dogs they have sent me turned out to be incredible dogs.  I have had the benefit of often working my dogs at a local police training facility and they have been a pleasure to see in action.  They’re all I ever wanted…a protector, a playmate and loyal friend.  Just last week my wife and I had the opportunity to meet Laszlo and Martina when they came to the United States to deliver a dog for another client.  They drove for hours just to visit us and our current dog.  This says a lot about them as business owners and as good people.  I would recommend them to anyone looking for a even tempered dog with a solid foundation.  If you do your part the dog will do theirs.  I’d be happy to share my specific experiences with anyone looking to purchase a dog from them.  Feel free to ask them for my contact info and I’d be eager to tell more about my dealings with them.

Hi Martina and Laszlo,

We are in love with Teo! He is beautiful and has a wonderful temperament. We get compliments everywhere we go with him – about his behavior and his looks. He really is a gorgeous dog and a perfect specimen of his breed. My vet absolutely loves him and is thoroughly impressed with his physique, coat, and overall health. My vet says she’s not used to seeing such an impressive looking boxer. We are so very happy to have Teo and he has become an irreplaceable part of our family. We’ve had him for just a little over 2 weeks now, so we haven’t really worked on training with him yet, but you can tell that he has been well socialized and he is a perfect gentleman on the leash – my eight year old daughter can walk him on the leash! He is totally housetrained and follows me from room to room without being told. Did I mention he loves to play fetch? I was very surprised to see him fetch the ball and bring it back – off leash. Laszlo, I really could just go on and on about all the reasons we love Teo!

Thank you for sending such a beautiful, well-behaved, very intelligent and most importantly well-trained German Shepherd (Nina). She has been with us for 10 days now and she has become a very important member of the family. It seems like we had Nina for many years. She is still a little home sick, but I guess that is expected. She loves the car and every time I grab my car key, she runs to the door. She is so friendly that no one believes me that she is a protective dog. Most people think that she is a regular dog, however, the signs of a protective dog are there.
When I am walking her she is always on the look out. If she sees anyone walking near us, she stops and stares at that person. In addition, this past Saturday, we had some friends over to watch a boxing fight. Nina was very friendly, but she never took her eye sight of my friends. Moreover, she noticed someone walking on my back yard and all the suddenly she started barking really loud. This was the first time I saw her bark and get mad.

This is the Couret family and on behalf of all of us we would like to thank you for our wonderful dog, Legend. Legend is an extremely well trained, well tempered and mannered dog. Since the first day we received him, he has done nothing but bring us joy. There is no doubt that Legend is well trained and he will protect us with his life.

A quick story to share. On the third day of Legend living with us, we all sat around to watch television. We put in a random DVD and it so happened to be about war. Legend was fascinated by the television and never once did his eyes leave it. There came a scene where a man drew a gun and aimed it at another person. Legend quickly stood up from his sitting position and began to bark at the television. When the man shot the other man, Legend, without warning, attacked the television. We all stared in shock and amazement but on a quick command, he stopped and calmed down. This proved to us that he is very aware of his surroundings and always attentive. This is no doubt due to his superior training.
Legend is everything and so much more then what we expected. Truly a dog that can live up to his name.
